NOMA (National Online Makeup Artists) is the first company to provide the public access to makeup artists for free. NOMA offers their clients all types of freelance makeup artists with varied specialties, such as Television, Film, Print, Photography, Theatre, Special Effects, Music Videos, Promotions and etc.

 

Our client offers the customers to choose and hire the makeup artist from any state of the USA and introduce new members to the national makeup artist network for nominal fee. Besides this, our client is the official retailer of global cosmetic companies and one of its requests was creating web shop with the ability to add/edit/delete any products. Our goal was to create the website that can be easily managed through the admin area with the ability to add/edit/delete numerous numbers of makeup artists and integration with the client’s payment gateway.

There were a number of major challenges that we faced as we started work on the project:

• Administration area development: The admin area was supposed to include the main website features including makeup artist database and shop with the ability to modify and update both of them;

• Time constraints: As the company was growing day by day with new makeup members signing up, the project had to be delivered in a short time frame with the whole functionality working.

In less than four weeks, working in close cooperation with the client’s team, we successfully developed the whole website starting from the design and finishing our work by designing the database structure and merging the e-commerce business application (Paypal).We implemented the PHP scripts developed in our company by our leading developers. The database was structured to store all the necessary information regarding the makeup artists like: Name, Location, Specialty, etc and products. Such database structure simplifies the projection of the makeup artist’s profiles and products in the admin area with the most accurate information, same time making them more understandable and easy to modify for the client. Separate module was developed to manage the website shop. Our scripts give the client the most convenient way of adding/editing/deleting shop items to the front-end with indicating Product Name, Price, Quality, Size and short description. After integrating with Paypal the client could easily receive all the payments for each product from the website depending on the size, quality, shipping, etc. To improve the usability of the website and simplify user’s search of the freelance makeup artists through all the states, our team has developed flash animation that works closely with the website database. After each database query the user is displayed the whole lists of artists available in certain state.

The website that we developed has a custom and unique design, friendly and multi-functional user interface. The website allows users to choose makeup artist from all over the USA, select any product available at the website and pay for it at once. Much effort was spent on developing the admin area to make it user-friendly and give the client an opportunity to modify the whole information displayed at the website: makeup artist’s profiles and products stored at the web shop.

• Cost Advantage. The system was developed fully offshore and total costs of the project are 5-6 times lower compared with the onsite model;

• Easy-to-use admin area with ability to manage (add/edit/delete) the whole database of employees and new registrants;

• Decreased time-to-market. The full version of the website was developed and delivered to the customer in one month.
