www.stage264.com requested to integrate the Pixsy.com API (Application Programming Interface) for their online video sharing and social network web site. Pixsy Corporation provides adaptable and customized multimedia (video/image) search and monetization solutions for the websites. Pixsy Corporation is a professional media search company that has carried out and fulfilled many successful projects with such partners as: Veoh Networks, PureVideo, Info.com, eZanga. One of the main aspects of Pixsy Corporation is to provide the websites with additional video search results using the unique Pixsy.com API.

Challenges

There were a number of major challenges that we faced as we started work on the project:

Analysis and examination of API: as the API was exclusively developed by Pixsy Corporation, our developers studied the documentation for the API integration to avoid any mistakes and hasten the process of implementation;

Re-organizing and mapping the www.stage264.com main categories: as all the materials from Pixsy.com are organized in certain number of categories and publishers, we had to state new rules for displaying Pixsy content at www.stage264.com;

Working in close cooperation with the client (www.stage264.com) and Pixsy Corporation support team, we have successfully met all the requirements for API integration. We have modified and upgraded the existing search module with the Pixsy.com API making it more effective. The categories and publishers of the Pixsy.com API were re-structured to fit the main categories of the website not to confuse or distract the users and display the video results with the highest accuracy. There was no loss in the website design and structure after the API integration.
After the integration the number of unique users at www.stage264.com has increased as Pixsy API simplifies the process of searching the multimedia files throughout the global network. Besides this we have kept the main categories of website untouched with adding new media materials from Pixsy.com that makes the process of browsing the media files for the users more pleasant and convenient.
